Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. On the third rock orbiting that unregarded yellow sun, you find yourself sitting and scrolling mindlessly through the digital expanse, perhaps just to look busy. And suddenly you ask yourself…
And you may recognize the two different sources of our inspiration above. The first is from Douglas Adam’s “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” and the second is from David Byrne and Talking Heads song “Once in a Lifetime“. Byrne denied that the lyrics address yuppie greed and said they were about the unconscious:
We operate half-awake or on autopilot and end up, whatever, with a house and family and job and everything else, and we haven't really stopped to ask ourselves, 'How did I get here?'"
I think we all find ourselves asking that question every so often, or any number of other closely related questions, along with some not so closely related ones.
